Family Orientation at Stewart
So the morning kinda started out a little early. We convinced Reilly that he was going to school just like his Uncle Caleb. He was too excited! Reilly put his clothes and shoes on and brushed his teeth. He even wanted his hair combed and fix before we left. So we got in the car with his etch-a-sketch and orange juice and we were off. I was so excited that Reilly was going to go right in CDC and start playing with complete strangers.

Well, it all most all went to plan. Reilly was still ready to stay and play until it was time for Mommy and Daddy to leave. Then all of a sudden our carefree child turned into a full grown leech! He wouldn't let go of our legs for ANYTHING! It was really hard for me, but I just stood there while Nathan talked to him trying to convinced Reilly it would be ok. Finally the Lady that worked there pulled Reilly off my leg and we just jetted out the door. It was so hard to see those tears fall down his cheek as we walked away, but we knew it was the best thing to do for him.
So we got to our meeting and learned a lot of really cool stuff about Fort Stewart and Hunter. Even though I have been to three other Family Orientations, this one by far had more information to offer the families. I even got my own black bag to carry all my hundreds of papers they passed out.
We got wind from one of the speakers that the state of Georgia, I think, has a program called HOPE that will allow soldiers/family members to go to school up to 18month for free. I don't know the exact detail other than what ever it was it sounds like a really good source for going to school for Nathan. So he will be checking into that soon.
After the meeting we picked up Reilly. The worker there said that he did really well and played good with all the other kids which is a load off my mind. This would be the first time that I left Reilly alone with strangers and other kids, but he seemed to pass with flying colors. So for Reilly's good behavior we treated him to a giant piece of pizza before heading home.
I still have a lot of unpacking to do, but hopefully I will get a good start this weekend.
