A Sick Week For The Guys

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are all doing ok now.  Nathan had a crappy birthday due to the fact that he was sick.  He stayed in bed most of the day.  He luckily got the day off, but not because it was his birthday.  He sure did need it.  Anyways, things are starting to get a little bit better.

We are looking forward to going to Savannah's St. Patricks day Parade.  I hope to have alot of pictures.

This upcoming week we have alot going on.  I have my OB appointment, Reilly has a follow appointment and Nathan's parents are coming in next Friday!  So this week will fly by too.

Sick Reilly

So things have been pretty rough these past few days.  Reilly and Nathan were sick.  Reilly more than Nathan, but still a rough weekend.  Reilly had matted eyes, a fever of 102, runny nose and a had a hard time breathing.  This had been going on since Friday.  That is when it started to get worse anyway.  I figured a few days and Reilly would be better.  Since his cough was to the point he couldn't sleep and the cough suppressant wasn't working, we had to give him Benadryl to help him sleep.  That seem to get him by over the weekend.

Well, I had decided that I would make an appointment to see a doctor and make sure nothing too serious was wrong with Reilly.  It was a good thing I did too.  I walked into the doctors office complaining of Reilly's irritated eyes and nasty cough.  I went home knowing that Reilly had an ear infection and the beginning stages of pneumonia.  WOW!  I couldnt believe. it.  Reilly had to get X rays done on his left lung.  He was such a good boy at the doctors office too.  You could tell he was really proud of himself.

I was shocked that Reilly had lost 5lbs in two weeks.  But it all seems to fall together with the kind of week we have been having.  Luckily, the antibiotic for an ear infection also helps the pneumonia.  All of Reilly's other systems were just independent problems.  So poor Reilly went home with Clairitain, Pheudoephedrine, Tylenol, Medicated Eye drops, and  Robutessin.  I had just about every kind of medicine for a child.

As far a the pregnancy goes, everything is going smoothly.  No complaints.  I am a little exhausted for the week I have had with Reilly, but in all everything is ok.  I am feeling alot of bumping around in my stomach.  I seem to feel the baby the most when I am in the car driving somewhere.  I wonder if the vibration of the car tickles or something.  Who knows.

Well, hopefully things will get better over the next few days.

Reilly's 4th Birthday

We certainly had alot of fun on Reilly's Birthday.  His day consisted of going to Build A Bear, Lunch at Chili's, Starlight Pottery, McDonalds, ChucK-E-Cheese's.  I was sooooo tired.   Everything went really well and Reilly got alot of presents.  We still wish we could have been with family this year, but I have to say Jeff, Lindsey and Sina were a blast to be around!  So we are Thankful!  So the best words for his birthday is PICTURES!!!!   So here you go!

I Thought It Was A Drawing Of An Amoeba

I have been doing my "Wifely" duties the last few days.  I seem to never be able to find a way to enjoy cleaning.  Dont get me wrong, I love a clean house, but I just hate doing it.  Anyway, I was pretty sore from bending over and  sweeping and chasing Reilly every 15 seconds.  So I decided to take it easy today.

Reilly was sitting beside me on the couch playing with his maga-A-doodle while I was zoned watching some horse show.  He tapped on my shoulder and said "Look."  Not in a million years would I have ever guessed what he drawn.  I was scared to ask what it was. I Thought It Was A Drawing Of An Amoeba, not that he knew that, but  I was just like..."WOW, Reilly....that is really awesome!"

He looks at me and says..."Uh huh, its Baby Tummy."   I could barely see past my watered eyes at his drawing.  I just couldnt believe that he remembered his little brother/sister on the ultrasound picture he saw.  Nathan would tell Reilly, "Look there is a baby in Momma's Tummy."  So the last few days he has called this new baby "Baby Tummy."  Too Cute Right?  It will be one of those moments that once again, I will never forget.

So, here is a picture of "Baby Tummy" drawn by Reilly Craig.

Here is the video I took too.  Too Cute!

I dont know if I ever mentioned before, but when I was pregnant with Reilly I eat a TON of pickles.  I could sit and eat a whole jar at a time.  Well, since birth Reilly has always liked pickles and making those crazy faces.  Anyway, I was able to capture a sweet picture of Reilly eating yet....ANOTHER PICKLE!

First Sight of Baby Craig "B" and a Doctor's Visit

DOCTOR VISIT:
Reilly has been kinda sick the past few days.  Not too bad, just mostly at night when his snot would run down his throat and down into his stomach.  He would then wake up coughing and then that would be followed by a mild fever.  I was able to get him into the doctor today to make sure everything was ok.  The visit took a total of 5 minutes.  The Doc checked the ears, nose and throat.  Everything was doing good.  Reilly's nose had some green snot, but what we were doing at home seemed to be effective.  I was mainly concerned about his ears.  So in the end all was ok.

FIRST BABY PICTURES:
Wow, was I ever excited for today.  I was spoiled with Reilly.  We knew he was a boy at 11wks.  Not many people can say that.  This next little one we will have to wait till April 3(20wks) to find out what he or she is.  I seem to be leaning to wanting a girl, but after seeing the ultrasound, I beginning to think we are having another little boy.   The baby's head measured bigger (a week ahead of the rest of the body).  When I had to have a C-Section with Reilly, it was because of "Failure to Descend" or in other words "He had a big head."

It was so amazing to watch our new baby on the ultrasound.  That little booger was flipping and flopping EVERYWHERE.  We were lucky to get the pictures that we got.  Those little hands were waving and saying hello world.   Reilly was quite intrigued by the little baby.  Nathan got to be there too!  Which was surprise.

Anyway, Reilly waved at the baby on the screen.  I had to do everything I could to keep my hormonal emotions at bay.  My eyes would start to tear up watching both Reilly and the little baby.  It is hard to believe you can love something so much to the point you cant measure it any more.  This will be one of those moments a mother will never forget in her life.

Other than that the visit went fairly quickly and everything turned out pretty good.  The only good picture that we were able to get is a side profile of the baby and those hands moving all over the place!

Are You Ok?

So I had my blood drawn.  Reilly cried the last time I did.  He thought that I was really hurt.  He did notice what the lady was about to do but Mario distracted his attention and he went back to playing his game.  Once I got up and walked over to Reilly, he ever so sweetly looked up at me and said.

Reilly:"You Ok?"
Me:  "Yeah, I ok"
Reilly: "You got a boo boo?"
Me: " A baby boo boo, but I will be ok"
Reilly: "Lets go home and get a band-Aid and make it better"

It was just too sweet.   He even told that the Spiderman one is the one that I needed to make it all better.

First Doctor's Appointment

FIRST DOCTORS APPOINTMENT:

So the day had finally arrived.  I got to have my first OB appointment for our new baby to be.  This was going to be different for me on many occasions.  One thing that really is different this time is around his out the whole medical system works.  At a military hospital the OB doctor that you see is usually does EVERYTHING from the time you walk into the door with the exception of drawing blood.  Ultrasounds or anything else is done by the military doctor.  Here in Savannah, GA, everyone seems to have their own job.  I was sent to so many different rooms to be seen by different people.  I guess it is pretty cool.  The downside to having different people do the different jobs is that you have to explain everything to everyone.  We will see how it goes.  Anyway, so here is how my appointment started out.

First of all I couldn't find anything to wear.  I am at the stage in my pregnancy where my clothes are just too snug.  It doesn't help to not want anything touching my stomach.  Any kind of elastic band or whatever makes me feel sick when it touches my belly.  I was the same way with Reilly too.  Anyway, after I changed like 50 times and still not complely satisfied with what I was wearing, I finally got myself dressed.  It was starting to get late.  My appointment was at 230pm and it was already  1:50pm and Reilly wasn't dressed.  Of coarse it was nothing to dress Reilly.  I mean come on he is a boy!  There isn't much to dressing boy.

As I was running out the door, I realized I hadn't filled out the paper work for the appointment.  I thought, "Well, I will just fill it out in the car when I get there."  I got on the road and was kinda driving a "little" fast.  That ended up being for  nothing because the freeway was bogged down from an accident.  I was afraid that I was going to miss my appointment, but I didn't.  The one good thing about the traffic was that I was able to fill out that crazy paperwork.

I was everything thankful for being able to get once of the closest parking spots on the premises.  I almost didn't believe it.  I think having that close of a parking spot allowed me to get to the appointment on time.  YEAH!

I went up to the fourth floor to be sent down to the third.  I learned that a practitioner had to see me before the OB doctor would.  I came so awesomely prepared for Reilly.  I pulled out his Nintendo DS and he started playing Mario Kart.  That thing was heaven sent!  We spent a total of 2hr for the whole appointment and that thing keep my Angel an "Angel"!  Sometimes I would forget he was there!  He was just too good for Reilly.

So everything went pretty good.  I got to hear the baby's heartbeat which was beat at 160 bpm.  The practitioner also stated that I might be a week or two further along than calculated and that we would have to do an ultrasound to know for sure.  After all the exams I was sent down to the lab to get some blood drawn.  I was afraid that Reilly would cry again, but I think Mario kept him a little distracted.

When I was done with the blood work Reilly said one of his funny sayings again.  I think it was more sweet than funny.  I will let you read it in another post.

My next appointment is Mar. 19 and my ultrasound will be Feb. 24.  I will be sure to keep you guys up to date.

MY GRANDMOTHER:
My grandmother had major surgery on her back today.  Praise God everything went well!

Bathroom Smack

SETTING:
In the bathroom stall inside the Resturant "Steamer" that we went to on Valentine's Day.  Of coarse, Reilly needed to do the #2.

Me: Reilly, You done?

Reilly (with a serious look and growling voice):  Mommma!

Me: Come on you gotta be done.

Reilly(yelling):  Momma!  STAY ON TARGET!!!!!

Me(totally shocked look):  What did you just say???

Reilly(so sure of himself): I said, STAY ON TARGET!

I could hear the lady next to us giggling.  I have have to say, I thought it was pretty funny  too!

Lets play catch up

It has been several days since I have last wrote on my blog.  I kinda got sloppy this week.  The weather has been so beautiful down here it has been unreal.  I am thinking that I am going to start writing my blog a little bit different.  Let me know if it works for you guys.

WEATHER THIS WEEK:

This has been one of the most beautiful week of great weather I have felt in a long time.  I can see why Savannah is a nice place to visit.  The temperature has averaged 70-78 degrees with blue skies and a light breeze.  What more could you ask for?  I have been wearing my capri pants and flip flips all week.  I have had my windows open to let in all the fresh air too.  So no complaints from us!

PREGNANCY:
I have been having a increase in headaches this week.  Sometimes the headaches can get so bad that I just want to lay on the couch and cover my head with a pillow so that the rest of the world is gone...with the exception of my three year old bouncing all over me.  I have been able to make start the process, but I think it is going to be a hard one.

I had gotten an approval from our insurance to see one doctor.  I went to make an appointment and was very surprised to learn that the doctor could not see me until June.  That would be  three months before the baby is due.  Yeah, like I am going to wait that long.  So I am in the process....again.  I cant call our insurance until Tuesday because the office is closed due to President's Day.

I did manage to find the doctor's name from my original referral that was rejected due to my address not be corrected.  So I called that office and found out that she wasn't taken any new patient either, however, the secretary gave me the name of two doctor that were currently taking new patients.  So keep your fingers crossed.

Current Pregnancy Stats:

State: 13 weeks closer to 14 weeks.

Size: 3 1/2 in.
Weight: 1 ounce

Info about the growth of the baby taken from babiesonline.com

Your baby's body systems are starting to work on their own. The digestive system practices moving food along the intestines and through the renal system and he can create and eliminate urine. He also continues to practice breathing the amniotic fluid in and out of his lungs. Your baby has tiny, soft nails on his fingers and toes, is growing hair and may even suck his thumb.

Also, your baby's blood is beginning to form in the bone marrow and blood vessels are beginning to connect various parts of the fetus to another. The joints and muscles allow your baby full body movement so your baby is able to move around. The baby's neck is getting longer and his chin is no longer resting on his chest. The eyes and ears continue to move into place. The hands are becoming functional and reflex movements often occur. Nourishment now comes from the placenta. Remember, some of what you eat and drink is getting through to your baby. The doctor can tell if your baby is a boy or a girl using special tests.

OUR NEW CHURCH:
We have managed to find a local church.  It seems to be one of the most loving churches that I have ever been too (with the exception of our home church in Arkansas).  It is a fairly large church that maybe runs around 300 or so.  The biggest factor was that Reilly is enjoying Children's Church so much.  There were so many kids that were Reilly's age.  He was so happy to.  At first is was reluctant to stay alone, but with some coaxing and reassuring little Nathan....I mean little Reilly did just fine.

It might have been harder for us as parents to walk away and leave him in someone's care, but it has to be done.  Regardless how much I want to keep him safe from this cruel world he has to learn to do these kind of things on his own.  We have now attended two weeks at the church.  The worship service is really awesome and glad that we were able to find it.

NATHAN'S FLYING:
Nathan is still trying to get to get settled into his new unit, so when I find out some more info I will be sure to let you guys know.

VALENTINE'S DAY:

I had a pretty good day.  Nathan did find a way to get me two dozen roses that were ever so beautiful.  I use to not be a flower person, but the older I get the more I have enjoyed getting flowers.  We did do something a little bit different this year.  I had decided that we could go to a seafood restaurant and let Nathan eat some awesome crab!  Now if anyone knows me, know that I do not like sea food or any kind of creature that lives in water.  I don't want to be the one woman that will not go to a certain restaurant because I don't like a particular type of food, because I know I can always find something on the menu that I can eat.

Anyway, we didn't go alone.  We invited our good friends Jeff and Lindsey to go with us.  For those of you that don't know Jeff and Lindsey, let me fill you in on them.  We first met them at Fort Rucker, AL.  Nathan went to Warrant Officer Candidate School and graduated with Jeff.  Then later, Nathan played flagfoot ball with Jeff.  So it was actually flag football was the first time I actually met Lindsey and her daughter Sina.  Jeff flies the Chinook Helicopter.  He finished flight school about a year earlier than Nathan.  So I really didn't get to keep up with Lindsey, UNTIL now.
Red Roses
We didn't know until we gotten our house in Savannah that we lived two houses away from Jeff and Lindsey.  What an awesome treat it has been actually having them so close.

So on Valentines Day we invited them to go eat with us.  We had a pretty awesome time too!  After eating we went back to  Jeff and Lindsey's and played a really funny game called Dirty Minds which isn't as evil as it sounds, but it sure was hilarious to play!  We played for four house and had a blast!  I think it was one of my favorite Valentine's Dates ever.

I am also including a picture of my living room and Reilly's Valentine's Gift from his YaYa!

Reilly and Valentines

Do you Want Some Candy?

I am not for sure were Reilly hears these things.  I would never ever say anything like that  to Reilly, nor would I say it too myself.  So it must have been on TV or something like that.  Nevertheless, it is pretty funny.

Me: Hey Reilly do you want some of this gummy candy?

Reilly:  Nah, Momma, I too fat?

Me: What do you mean your too fat?

Reilly: I just can't, I too fat.
